The Art of Adaptation: Stanley Kubrick

As a nod to the great filmmaker Stanley Kubrick, I produced this 5-book collector’s series in the style of the classic Penguin books. The classic design not only unifies this box set, but also invokes the nostalgia of reading as a child, enveloping the reader in comfort and contentment. Featuring Kubrick’s 5 most notable screenplays, I took references from his films and created type-photo collages to develop these covers. The secondary type is set in Futura—a staple of Kubrick’s work. By bringing imagery that is intensely reminiscent of key aspects of his screenplays together with this classic font, Kubrick's twisted perspective on human nature jumps off the page in this newly designed box set.
