Raised on Wisconsin cheese and Sunday Night Football, Luke Leissring developed an early interest in graphic design. Drawn to the rustbelt architecture and industrial influences of smalltown Midwest America, he was encouraged by his parents to follow his passions and quickly developed a broad skill set and functional style. Shaped by his time in menswear, and by the different ways design influences daily life, he’s always looking for new modes of design to explore.
His inspirations are as varied as his work—Dieter Rams, Charles and Ray Eames, Paul Rand, and Thom Browne top the list. He’s also drawn to the lines between rural and urban and travels regularly to explore new areas. To keep him company on his travels, Luke adopted a Maine Coon cat who rides around the country with him; someday the world. In the meantime, Cambridge is his home base, as he continues to be inspired by its combination of old and new, the temporary and the timeless.
